The Newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Georgia Zhou Qian Presented the Copy of His Letter of Credence to Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili

On June 2, 2022, the newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Georgia Zhou Qian presented the copy of his Letter of Credence to Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili.

Ambassador Zhou Qian remarked that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Georgia. Up to this moment, the relations between the two countries have maintained good momentum of development, the practical cooperation in various fields has made solid progress, and the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples has continuously deepened. The Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Georgian side to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as a new starting point, in order to enhance friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and further advance the development of China-Georgia relations.

Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili welcomed Ambassador Zhou to his new post and remarked that Georgia attaches great importance to the development of relations between Georgia and China, and is grateful for China’s valuable support in the fight against the pandemic. Georgia is willing to work together with China and take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity to promote the healthy and stable development of cooperation in various fields, so as to bear more fruitful results for the benefit of two countries and peoples. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is willing to provide all necessary assistance to Ambassador Zhou in fulfilling his duties.

On May 13, Ambassador Zhou Qian and his spouse arrived in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
