Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control Requirements for China-bound Passengers

According to the requirements of the “Interim Measures for the International Exchange of Chinese and Foreigners” issued by the Chinese government on December 27, 2022, China-bound passengers are required to take nucleic acid test within 48 hours before flight departure, those with negative test results can travel to China.

In order to ensure the health and safety of international travel, from January 17, 2023 (local time), airlines flying to China will be responsible for checking the negative nucleic acid test certificates (taken within 48 hours before boarding) of passengers, please cooperate. China Customs will conduct spot checks on the certificates when passengers enter the country.

In order to facilitate the preparations before flight departure for China-bound Passengers, the Embassy of China in Georgia compiled the "Epidemic Prevention and Control Guidelines for China-bound Passengers" and the requirements for nucleic acid test certificates (attached). Please read carefully and follow them to avoid affecting the itinerary.

Epidemic Prevention and Control Guidelines for China-bound Passengers

1. Remote detection: China-bound passengers are required to take nucleic acid test within 48 hours before flight departure, those with negative test results can travel to China, passengers with positive test results should wait until the result is negative. Please keep the negative test certificate and carry it with you for inspection.

2. Health Declaration to China Customs: Passengers need to declare the negative nucleic acid test result to China Customs by filling the “Exit/Entry Health Declaration of the People’s Republic of China” either on WeChat mini-program of China Customs (海关旅客指尖服务/Customs Passenger Fingertip Service), or via the China Customs APP or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn.

1. Boarding inspection: The airline will check the negative nucleic acid test certificates taken within 48 hours when passengers board the plane. If passengers can not present it, they will not be allowed to board the plane.

2. In-flight epidemic prevention: Please wear a face mask during the flight to take personal protection and reduce the risk of infection.

3. Entry quarantine: After arriving at the port, complete the necessary customs clearance procedures with the customs health declaration code. The customs will conduct spot checks on the certificates of negative nucleic acid tests taken 48 hours before boarding the plane. Those who have normal health declarations and no abnormalities in the routine quarantine at customs ports, can be released. People with unusual health declarations or symptoms such as fever will be tested by the customs. Those who test positive should be quarantined at home or in a place of residence or seek medical treatment in accordance with the requirements of the notice. If the result is negative, the customs will implement routine quarantine in accordance with the "Frontier Health and Quarantine Law" and other laws and regulations.

4. Local epidemic prevention: After entering the country, passengers should strictly abide by the various requirements of local epidemic prevention and control.

The requirements for nucleic acid test certificates

1. Nucleic acid test certificate must contain the full name of the passenger (should be consistent with the name written on the travel document used for the flight to China), it should indicate the date of birth of the passenger and the number of the travel document.

2. Nucleic acid test certificate must contain the following information: Testing time or the report issuance time (at least one within 48 hours before boarding), test method (should be a nucleic acid test, antigen test is not accepted), test result (should be negative, results such as "uncertain" and "grey area" are not accepted), the name and contact information of the testing institution.

3. Nucleic acid test certificate must be in the official language of the place where the flight to China takes off or in English, it will be inspected by the airline operating the flight to China.

4. Passengers should have a paper report, if the testing institution issues an electronic report, please print it out and bring it with you.
